The Application Process

Step 1 – Apply Online

Applications for courses starting in September 2023 are now open. All PLC courses are fulltime. Part-time courses are available - check under Back to Education.

When you complete your application, you will receive an acknowledgement email with login details, username and password, for your new account on our college applications system (smtprelay@mit.ie). Please ensure you receive this email as it sometimes goes into spam/junk folders.

You will need to log into the college applications system regularly to manage your application to MCFE. Please note that your login details must be kept, by you, in a safe and secure place as they will be needed to access your account each time.

Step 2 – Offer of place

We do not hold interviews and offer places* on a first come, first served basis (all courses except Dental Traineeship). We will send you an email when your offer letter has been uploaded to your account.

*This offer is subject to places being available, proficiency in written and spoken English and any specific course requirements being met. Refer to the course entry requirement for the course you are applying for on the course page here.

Step 3 – Pay a non-refundable registration charge to secure your place.

You will receive an email asking you to pay your non-refundable €50 registration charge online. Please go to the college website and click on the Pay Now button (or you may login to your account in the usual way). This will take you to the login page of the college applications system. Please ensure you login to the Academic year 2023/24.

Once you are logged in, select the Payments tab to pay the non-refundable €50 registration charge.

City of Dublin ETB (CDETB) can now accept payments online for fees and other charges.

Please see below a list of Terms and Conditions that should be read carefully in advance of using the online payment facility.

International Applicants

The college welcomes applications from qualified international applicants. Non-EU learners whose visas do not confer access to publically funded education may be required to pay a course fee of €3654 for their course if eligible. For further details, please contact the college. Applicants who are in the international protection system and have been granted permission to work are not eligible for the €3654 non-EU fees. Applicants will be required to provide proof of their immigration status (eg. GNIB card, permission to work letter issued by the Department of Justice) as part of the enrolment process.

English Language

All courses are delivered through English. Learners are advised that to benefit from their chosen course they must be proficient in written and spoken English. Where no evidence is presented of a B2 level of English language proficiency, applicants will be required to pass our English Language assessment as part of the application process.

Mature Students

The number of mature students attending Further Education courses in Killester Marino College is increasing each year and at present constitutes a significant proportion of our total numbers. Mature students are very welcome and Learner Supports will pay particular attention to their learning needs.
