On Tuesday 26th of March we were delighted to welcome local Dublin city Councillor Ciaran Cuffe to the college to talk about climate change and the local environment. As Ireland is one of the biggest producers of plastic waste in Europe it has never been more pertinent that we as a college address how we dispose of our plastic waste and how we can become more environmentally aware. Here at Marino College FE the staff and students are very interested in finding positive solutions to protecting the local environment and there was lots of lively discussions around public transport and increased cycle lanes in the inner city. We are working towards having a Marino College Green Week where we can raise awareness of these and other issues related to protecting the local environment. We’ll keep you posted !
